Pauline Hammons of Lavaca, Arkansas, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born on September 4, 1943, in Fort Smith to the late Robert Wood Bishop and Eddie Mae (Stem) Bishop. She was 81 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Hammons; and three sisters, Mary Phillips, Elizabeth Pearson and Sue Tennant.
For 40 years, Pauline was the CFO for Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Fort Smith. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed raising dogs. She loved her family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5th at Brotherton Funeral home Chapel in Charleston. Burial will follow at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
She is survived by a daughter, Angie Shelby and wife Linda Meyers of Edgewater, Florida; her twin sons, Keith Shelby and wife Valerie and Kenneth Shelby, all of Lavaca; a brother, Bobby Bishop and wife Helen of Charleston; (9) grandchildren; and (11) great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Keith Shelby, Kenneth Shelby, Jeff Tennant, Cody Lewis, Vendle Johnson, and Nick Hannaman.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home.
